Damian Lillard has been very vocal in his rhymes and has aimed at Shaquille O’neal for not really being a rapper and has been labeled a “clout chaser” for not being a respectable rapper.

“Ghost writers on deck, checker boards, no chess Hailing from the land of the muscle cars, no flex You not a rapper, you comedy, commentary, and actor Feed ‘em with a slingshot, you better call the pastor David and Goliath, your stature’s a non-factor Friends really love you, they scatter and contact you like “Shaq just let it be ’cause no weapons gon’ ever prosper
Remember you’re a cop with endorsements and you’re a doctor”

During a podcast Lillard went on to mention the way he felt about Shaq.

“I’ve heard Shaq’s stuff.. I think he was viewed as ‘Shaq,’ though… People wasn’t looking at it like, ‘That’s a real rapper,’ it was like, ‘that’s Shaq rapping.'”

After dropping the track he faced a lot of criticism and wasn’t phased by it he still feels it was necessary to express his feeling through his music.

Lillard wrote on his Twitter “1st of all I took less on my first max ext Do your homework. but whatever the easiest thing to have an opinion on is stuff that don’t involve you cuz you don’t have to deal with the consequences 🤷🏽‍♂️ .And u dnt kno If I’ll win it lol.. if I’m forgotten I’ll be a rich forgotten mf”.
