5 Rappers Dropped From Rolling Loud Festival At Request Of Police

The Rolling Loud festival taking place in New York this weekend has dropped five rappers from the lineup per the request of police, according to The New York Times. According to reports, the performers were removed from the festival after a NYPD official sent the organizers of the festival a letter with safety concerns.

The Rolling Loud festival will be on Saturday and Sunday at Citi Field in Queens and will include big performers like Travis Scott and Meek Mill.

The performers dropped were 22Gz, Casanova, Pop Smoke, Sheff G and Don Q. The letter from the police said they “have been affiliated with recent acts of violence citywide.”

22Gz (Jeffrey Alexander) was charged with murder in Florida in 2017. The charges were dropped after police charged another man as the gunman. Casanova (Caswell Senior) served prison time in New York on a robbery charge. The other three artists dropped from the festival have faced weapons charges.
